Frequently Asked Questions

Absolutely. Westport offers top-rated public schools, a safe and active community, and endless ways to enjoy the outdoors. Families love the parks, beaches, library, and small-town feel with big-city access. Many of my clients tell me they moved here for the schools and stayed for the lifestyle.

Prices vary depending on location and size, but currently, the average home in Westport sells for around $1.6 to $2.2 million. There are also smaller homes and condos starting just under $1M, and luxury estates well over $5M. I always help buyers understand what their budget can get them in today’s market.

About 50 miles. By train, it takes roughly 65 to 75 minutes from Westport’s Metro-North station to Grand Central. It’s an easy ride that makes commuting or visiting the city very doable.

Westport’s mill rate is lower than many neighboring towns, which helps balance out home prices. For most single-family homes, taxes typically range between $15,000 and $30,000 annually. I can walk you through how taxes vary by neighborhood and price point.

Many buyers are making the move now because of low inventory and the long-term value Westport offers. While interest rates fluctuate, the demand for homes in Westport has remained strong. If you’re thinking about it, let’s talk through your timing and goals.

It really depends on your lifestyle. Greens Farms and Coleytown are favorites for their schools and charm. Long Lots has great proximity to the middle and high schools. Compo Beach is popular with families who want to be near the water. Each area has its own personality, and I love helping families find their fit.

Technically, no. But having a local expert on your side can make a huge difference. From finding off-market listings to navigating inspections and negotiations, I make sure my buyers feel confident and supported every step of the way.

It’s still competitive, especially for move-in ready homes under $2 million. Multiple offers are common, and being prepared makes all the difference. I help buyers get fully ready to move quickly and strategically.

The pace is different here—in a good way. You’ll still have access to great food, culture, and community, but with space to breathe. I always recommend spending a weekend here to explore. Walk the beach, grab coffee in town, and let the place sink in.

On average, about 70 minutes on the Metro-North. There are express trains during rush hour and plenty of options throughout the day. Many of my clients actually enjoy the train time – it becomes a moment to decompress, read, or get work done.
